 The Republic of Romania is a European country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe, north of the Danube River. Its capital is Bucharest.  The Danube Delta is located on its territory, where the Danube River passes through the south of the country and empties into the Black Sea.  The Carpathian Mountains are located in the south and in the center of the country. It is bordered to the north by Ukraine, to the northeast by Moldova, to the east by the Black Sea, to the south by Bulgaria, and to the west by Serbia and Hungary.

The modern state of Romania 

was founded after the union of the Romanian state and Moldova under the leadership of Alexandru Ioan Cuza, and in 1918, Transylvania, Bukovina, and Bessarabia joined it. It was then called “Greater Romania” as it was the largest area of ​​Romania throughout its history.
